    Do stop by Twin Ponds while you're in this part of Maine. Just can't get enough of Twin Ponds. The Sand Bank Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Twin Ponds. There's so much to do here at Twin Ponds that you need to camp here for a while, Big Moose Campground is a fine place for that. The summit of Trout Mountain can be made out from Twin Ponds, and there is a delightful hiking trail nearby called the Dudley Trail. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day  
   at Twin Ponds you can take a hike along the Chimney Pond Trail. Lakes are pleasant; Lower Togue Pond is a lake that's near Twin Ponds.
There's whitewater on Millinocket Stream for all you adrenaline junkies, and Pickerel Cove is relatively close. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Sandy Stream; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Pockwockamus Pond.

               you'll perhaps meet some folks from Bangor, and Twin Ponds is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Roaring Brook Campground is a brilliant local campground. Through the months of summer at Twin Ponds temperatures are frequently in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are commonly in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Twin Ponds through the winter usually descend into the-10's. From a precipitation point of view Twin Ponds is a pretty common site; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Katahdin Inn is a magnificent choice; getting to Spring Brook from Twin Ponds is simple.
