If you came to camp Shin Pond Village Campground is a perfect place to do that, and Lower Shin Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by. Camping at Bowlin Camps Outfitters is always a wonderful experience; get dripping wet paddling on Seboeis River. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Bangor here. While you're here at Twin Ponds you can take a hike       along the Telos Tote Road, and Katahdin Inn is a good spot to get some rest. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. Going for a hike along the American Thread Company Road will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Shin Brook River. Twin Ponds is a good site of normal rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February. At Twin Ponds through                  the summer months highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are usually in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Twin Ponds. The top of Peaked Mountain is easily spotted from Twin Ponds, and some close by water includes Kimball Brook. On a nice day at Twin Ponds you can take a hike along the Jerry Pond Tote Road, and while you're here, you could also take a look at wonderful Davis Pond.   Katahdin Inn, Millinocket 20 miles away The Econo Lodge is located at the northern end of the Appalachian Trail.
