     Good hiking is available along the Bald Mountain Trail; Chandler Parker Mountain is clearly visible from Turtle Pond. The yearly rainfall here at Turtle Pond is about average; the month with most of the rain is November, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Stay the night at Balsam Cove Campground; why not pop by a swamp like Camp Stream Bog since you're here at Turtle Pond. Through the warmest time of the year here at Turtle Pond, high temperatures mostly  
   get into the 70's, and the overnight is rather cooler of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Turtle Pond.
Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Fort Knox Inn, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Narramissic River. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Turtle Pond; Old Cove Trail is a great local trail; Turtle Pond is not the only spot close by, Wight Pond is a close by
 
               lake. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little journey to McCaslin Stream if you're here at Turtle Pond, and paddling on Blue Hill Falls is so much fun.
Don't leave Turtle Pond without first going for a hike along the Blue Hill Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Turtle Pond has to offer, you can camp at Whispering Pines Campground; if you've had enough of Turtle Pond, Fourth Pond is nearby. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun stuff just keep reading. Wooded lakeside campground with water activities, game room, store, laundry, free hot showers and free Wi-Fi.  Relax by your campfire or explore Bar Harbor, 26 miles away.  Ft. Knox in Bucksport is only 5 miles south. We are located on Toddy Pond, a 10 mile lake with great fishing and boating.  The lake offers pickerel, large mouth bass, trout, sun fish, salmon and more. We have powered pontoon boats, fishing boat rentals, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats.  We are a family campground.  Pets are welcome at an extra cost. Friday night is movie night.  Saturday morning arts and crafts for children, Saturday afternoons Candy Bingo and Saturday night bonfire at the waterfront (weather permitting). Hay rides both Friday and Saturday nights. Christmas in July, the 3rd weekend of July and Halloween in August the 3rd weekend in August.  Come and listen to the loons.  If you do not own a camper, come and stay in one of our rustic cabins or one of our rental campers.  Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful setting....
