If you are in York county it's always a good idea to stop by Trout Pond. The view of Brackett Hill from Trout Pond is scenic, and a good close by hotel is Sanford Inn. Here at Trout Pond you'll most likely meet some folks from Portland-South Portland, and you can stay the night at Apache Campground. High temperatures at Trout Pond through the summer are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 30's

Canes Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at; after
a long day outdoors Sanford/Kennebunkport Super 8 Motel is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Trout Pond is a wet site that gets a lot of rain; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while September is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
