Going for a hike on the Bald Mountain Trail is always a splendid adventure, and Trout Pond is not the only location close by, Jacob Buck Pond is a close by lake. Everybody close by loves skiing at New Hermon Mountain, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Fort Knox Inn is a delightful location to spend a night or two. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Trout Pond reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. High temperatures

| | during the winter are normally in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Trout Pond temperatures drop to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Trout Pond you can play some golf at Bucksport Golf Club. That right there is lots already, but it continues; Trout Pond has it all. One of the overriding characteristics of the surroundings of Trout Pond is Jacob Buck Mountain; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you | |

then, we recommend Narramissic River. Camping is available at Shady Oaks Campground and Cabins; dry warm beds await you at Hollywood Slots Hotel And Raceway. If you came for an overnight stay Masthead Family Campground is a brilliant
place to camp, and if you come at the right time of year, Penobscot River offers some good whitewater. From a precipitation point of view Trout Pond is a relatively typical place; throughout November this area sees the most rain
while February is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There are good places to discover along the Blue Hill Trail, and if you've had enough of Trout Pond, Williams Pond is nearby.

 | 11 miles away Pushaw Lake Campground is located on Pushaw Lake in Orono, Maine. It is an 8 mile long lake with wonderful swimming and fishing. We have two laundry , two bathroom and shower facilities, as well as a Store, Gift Shop, Moose Cafe' with free WIFI in the Cafe for all our guest to enjoy, recreation hall and Arcade.
We rent Canoes and Kayaks for those of you that would like to get out on the lake and enjoy some of the beautiful nature that surrounds us.
