Go to Trout Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. Paddling on Nicatous Stream is so much fun; Maple Grove Campground is a fine campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Trout Pond you can take a hike along the Eagle Lake Trail, and do explore Little Guagus Stream since you're here at Trout Pond. There is a splendid hiking trail in the neighborhood of Trout Pond called the Lead Mountain Trail, and Cold Spring Campground is a great local campground. Trout Pond gets a good deal of water; November is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Trout Pond, so little time. Drift down the rapids of Passadumkeag River in a kayak; White Birches Country Club is a good spot to get some rest. | |
