    Do stop by Trout Lake while you're in this part of Maine. Trout Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff right next door to Trout Lake. A great place to camp here at Trout Lake is Old Farm Inn; perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Orie Lake is just a very short distance away. For the duration of the warm days  
   of summer at Trout Lake highs are typically in the 70's, and the overnight is rather cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Trout Lake.
Why not camp at Maine Wilderness Camps since you're here at Trout Lake, and you can run the rapids of Grand Lake Stream. Dry warm beds await you at Scottish Inns Houlton; if you've had enough of Trout Lake, Pleasant
 
               Lake is close by.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a little visit to Denver Brook if you're here at Trout Lake, and why not stop by Birch Point also since you're here. Swamps don’t sound that brilliant but Alder Brook Swamp right next door to Trout Lake is quite brilliant; get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Baskahegan Stream.

There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
