    If you are in Hancock county it's always a good idea to stop by Torrey Pond. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend nearby Island Country Club, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Fort Knox Inn is a wonderful choice. The warmest time of the year at Torrey Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through  
   the wintertime temperatures at Torrey Pond plunge into the 0's. On a delightful day you can pop by Birchhead Shore close to Torrey Pond.
Brays Mountain is clearly visible from Torrey Pond, and an interesting thing to stop at near Torrey Pond is Lily Pond Dam. Near Torrey Pond you hit upon the Sawyer Notch Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail; dry warm beds await you at Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing things
 
               just keep reading. Sunshine Campground is a good local campground; there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the Old Cove Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit Deep Hole also since you're here, and Old Quarry Ocean Adventures is a great campground nearby. Soar down the rapids of Goose Falls in a kayak, and nearby you find Colossom Ledges which is a perfect spot to explore. Paddling on Blue Hill Falls is so much fun, and going for a hike on the Jerusalem Mountain Trail is always a magnificent adventure.
An average amount of precipitation falls at Torrey Pond; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February.
