If you are in Aroostook county it's always a good idea to stop by Timoney Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mattawamkeag River - West Branch, and close by you find the Pierce Tote Road which is a perfect hiking trail. Get covered with water paddling on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch, and Timoney Mountain can be seen from Timoney Lake.
At Timoney Lake all through the summer months highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into

| | the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are regularly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Timoney Lake are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a wonderful choice, and unsurprisingly Bear Brook is a gorgeous stream that is worth taking a look at. From a rain point of view Timoney Lake is a rather typical place; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.

After a long day outdoors Scottish Inns Houlton is a great site to spend a night or two, and there is a splendid hiking trail nearby called the Kennedy Tote Road. Nearby lakes? Sure, Spaulding Lake is near Timoney Lake, and you can
never get enough of the great skiing at Bigrock. This lake is so wonderful. Timoney Lake is a delightful location to visit for more than one day, Bear Mountain Lodge is a delightful location to camp nearby, and going for a hike on
the Potters Trail is always a brilliant adventure.
That right there is plenty already, but it carries on; Timoney Lake has it all. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Timoney Lake has to offer, you can camp at Birch
Point Lodge Campgrounds, and obviously, this is a pleasant vicinity for folks who like lakes, Skitacook Lake is a lake in close proximity.
