    If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to Thurston Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to Thurston Pond? Hancock Pond is close by, and golf can be played at Bucksport Golf Club. Whispering Pines Campground is a magnificent campground here, and there's tremendous hiking along the Bald Mountain Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Thurston Pond.

   you at New Hermon Mountain; if you come at the right time of year, Penobscot River offers some pleasant whitewater. An average amount of precipitation falls at Thurston Pond; all through the month of November you get the most rain around here while February is generally the driest month. Summer at Thurston Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime  
               come with highs in the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Thurston Pond temperatures sink to the 0's.
If you need a spot to stay Best Western Fort Knox Inn is a pleasant choice; there are swamps here too, McGann Bog is close at hand. This lake is so wonderful. On a delightful day you acquire a sight of Cancer Hill from Thurston Pond, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Narramissic River. Do visit Thurston Pond Dam if you're here at Thurston Pond, and Hollywood Slots Hotel And Raceway is a pleasant location to get some rest.
If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Thurston Pond. Thurston Pond is a nice spot to camp, Shady Oaks Campground and Cabins is a nice spot; hiking is a popular thing to do around Thurston Pond; Blue Hill Trail is a magnificent local trail. Pinkham Brook flows through this area; the Peaked Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best.
