This lake is so wonderful. From Thomas Pond you get a glorious view of Brown Hill, and if you came for an overnight stay Kingsley Pines Camp is a great place to camp. Thomas Pond is a pretty wet place frequently with much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most; September meanwhile is the driest month. So much fun stuff to do here at Thomas Pond, too good to be true. You're perhaps interested in lakes, Coffee Pond is one of those nearby, and Pleasant Mountain Inn is a nice site to get some rest.

Chaffin Pond
This is a nice small pond just off of 302 but you can't hear any of the busy traffic. I'd recommend LOTS of bug sprays as the mosquitoes tend to swarm and are very plentiful this year. If you're not a fisherman but your children are...there are picnic tables for you to enjoy a book, needlepoint, or just relax and take in the fresh air....

Crooked River
My sister and I put in just below eddes falls this summer and kayaked all the way to sebago lake. Nice trip....My friend Dan and I ran part of this section last summer. Instead of putting in at Scribner's Mill, we launched from Edes Falls, just above the Rapids. It was a good inroduction to whitewater. Dan flipped within the first five minutes, but being that the water is relatively shallow, he did little more than get wet on a hot summers day. The Route 302 bridge is a logical pull out spot. There is a large mass of debris blocking passage of the river there. The only tricky part is that the walls of the riverband are steep and slippery, so it helps to have someone with you for the portage....

The Peak's gladed terrain allows intermediate skiers to experience the thrill and beauty of skiing among the trees of Shawnee's Sherwood Forest area or graduate to the advanced and expert terrain in the famous gladed areas off the mountain's East Side.

Very close to the Eastern Trail for a scenic hike of nature and wildlife.  A tranquil setting but yet close to shopping, fine dining and the beach.  Not many activities on site, but no noise either.  Also, a strong WiFi signal was nice for a change and cable TV with 70 channels at our level site.  Highly recommend if staying for a week, month or the season.  Plenty to do in the area....
