Lost Valley is a great local ski area, and camping is available at Camp Samoset II. The skiing at Shawnee Peak is brilliant, and if you're stopping by from Portland-South Portland, you won't be the only one. During the long summer days here at Thomas Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's.       The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Thomas Pond. You can run the rapids of Crooked River close to Thomas Pond, and taking a little tour to nearby Burnell Cove is a good idea. A great location for whitewater paddling right next door to Thomas Pond is Saco River; if you've had enough of Thomas Pond, Nubble Pond is nearby. A round of golf at nearby Frye Island Town Golf Course is a pleasant                  way to kill some time, and a nice close by hotel is The Elms Bed and Breakfast. This lake is so wonderful. From Thomas Pond you get a glorious view of Brown Hill, and if you came for an overnight stay Kingsley Pines Camp is a great place to camp. Thomas Pond is a pretty wet place frequently with much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most; September meanwhile is the driest month. If you love the outdoors, you'll like Thomas Pond. Dingley Brook is a wonderful location to explore, and Thomas Pond Dam is an interesting thing to check out. So much fun stuff to do here at Thomas Pond, too good to be true.
