Near Thistle Pond you locate the Mount Battie Trail which is a good hiking trail, and playing golf is lots of fun at Streamside Golf Course. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff right next door to Thistle Pond. There's so much to do here at Thistle Pond that you need to camp here for a while, The Moorings Campground is a glorious       spot for that, and the skiing at Camden is tremendous. On a glorious day at Thistle Pond you can take a hike along the Mount Megunticook Trail; get wet paddling on Goose River. Seascape Motel & Cottages is a splendid place to get some rest, and a scenic lake like Toddy Pond is a great spot to have a look at. From a rain point of view Thistle Pond is a quite common site; through November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.                  Whitewater paddling is good on Marsh Stream, and a swamp like Jones Bog close to Thistle Pond has lots of out of the ordinary things to see. What a place this is for outdoors people. This lake is so wonderful. Bear Hill is trouble-free to spot from Thistle Pond, and lakes are such calm places, why not visit Basin Pond. This lake is so wonderful. There is a fine hiking trail in close proximity to Thistle Pond called the Spring Brook Trail; if you came to camp Moose Pond Campground is a fine place to do that. All through the months of summer highs here at Thistle Pond reach the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's.
