If you like skiing, you're in luck; Shawnee Peak is next to Tenmile Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Oxford House Inn is a great place to get some rest; most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Pequawket Pond is just a very short distance       away. But wait, there's more to do next to Tenmile Pond. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Ossipee River, and you can catch a sight of Kezar Hill from Tenmile Pond. Good hiking is available along the Province Brook Trail; King Pine is a delightful local ski area. The Kearsarge Trail offers hiking at its best, and you're probably hooked on lakes, Boston Pond is one of those close by. A good deal of rainfall falls at Tenmile Pond; November is                  when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is September. Tenmile Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Woodland Acres Campground is a great local campground; dry warm beds await you at Pleasant Mountain Inn. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Weeks Brook Trail; Durgin Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to. At Tenmile Pond all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's.
