     Austin Stream flows through this vicinity, and going for a hike along the Arnolds Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. A great spot to camp here at Temple Pond is The Evergreens Campground and Restaurant, and after a long day outdoors Herbert Grand Hotel is a great spot to spend a night or two. The yearly rain here at Temple Pond is about average; November is the wettest month with most snow while February is commonly the driest month.  
   This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Carrying Place Stream for all you thrill seekers, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Eaton Mountain.
If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Temple Pond. A good nearby hotel is Bingham Motor Inn; camping is available at Breezy Acres. There are some good whitewater spots on Austin Stream, and do stop by Mink Ponds, it's a beautiful lake. This lake is
 
               so wonderful. A pretty lake like Wyman Lake close to Temple Pond is a delightful spot to explore.
A great view of scenic Baker Mountain is available from Temple Pond, and Wyman Dam is a pretty site, undeniably worth taking a look at. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Temple Pond with night lows in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Temple Pond.

Breezy Acres Camps and Guide Service is located in both Solon and Eustis Maine. He have housekeeping cabins which are set up with full size stoves, refrigerators,microwave, coffee pot, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, etc. The beds are made with linens and there are plenty of towels for the shower in the bathroom. Each cabin has its own picnic table, charcoal grill and outside fire pit. We can sleep up to 38 people.

You can access snowmobile and ATV trails right from the cabin for many miles of riding. Canoeing and kayaking on various lakes, ponds, streams and rivers are a great way to relax. Hunting, fishing, golf and white water rafting are some of the other activities that we offer.

We offer reasonable rates and great hospitality.

Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends.
The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan....
