    What a nice lake Swains Pond is. A great place for whitewater paddling next to Swains Pond is Black Brook. And that's not all the things to do here in the White Mountains. While you're here at Swains Pond you can take a hike along the Brook Trail, and Black Mountain is clearly visible from Swains Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Swains Pond, you'll come across Horseshoe Pond which is a stunning lake; the best way to spend a winter day is on the  
   slopes of nearby Mount Abram.
Swains Pond gets a typical amount of yearly rain; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is February. So much entertaining stuff in the White Mountains, just mind-boggling. A good location to camp here at Swains Pond is Coos Canyon Cabins and Campground, and you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Chimney Trail. Black Mountain is a very popular ski area close at hand, and you could always
 
               explore Roxbury Notch.
So much exciting stuff to do at Swains Pond, so little time. There are other sites here than Swains Pond, for example Bunker Pond, and after a long day outdoors Grand Summit Resort Sunday River is a great site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is pleasant here at Swains Pond, you can go for a hike along the Angel Falls Trail, and get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Swift River. Why not camp at Stony Brook Rec. and Camping if you're here at Swains Pond, and The Perennial Inn is a pleasant location to get some rest.
Swains Pond is located in the White Mountains. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Swains Pond get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Swains Pond.
