    The beauty of Surplus Pond is reason enough to stop by. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Surplus Pond, and the night is quite cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's while Surplus Pond nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the-10's. This place, Surplus Pond, it absolutely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Swift Cambridge River, and  
   if you came to camp Stony Brook Rec. and Camping is a pleasant place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Speck Pond Trail is brilliant fun, and most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, C Pond is just a very short distance away.
Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the White Mountains. Here at Surplus Pond you can make out Sable Mountain; a trip to The Cataracts will fill your soul with splendid feelings. All year
 
               is a wonderful time in the White Mountains if you go for the outdoors. There's so much to do here at Surplus Pond that you need to camp here for a while, South Arm Campground is a wonderful site for that, and why not a little side trip to Frye Brook. This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains.
But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Surplus Pond. Surplus Pond gets a common amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Really magnificent skiing awaits you at Sunday River, and Grand Summit Resort Sunday River is a good place to get some rest.
If you need a site to stay Sunday River is a fine choice; get wet paddling on Bear. This is a good neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Richardson Lake is a lake close by, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Black Mountain. Take a hike on the Old Speck Mountain Trail, and Surplus Pond is right by the Table Rock Trail.

NOVICES & INTERMEDIATES CAN SKI FROM THE SUMMIT -- FOR THE FIRST TIME
The new quad chairlift also allows novice and intermediate skiers to ski from the summit for the first time. Novices can now enjoy the panoramic views and ski along the 4000 ft. ridge amongst rime-frosted conifers before descending to the base via the 3.1 mile America and Hudson Highway trails. Intermediates can ski Tri-Color and Green Weaver, a one mile loop, back to the Kennebago Chair.

Black Beauty, Frost Bite and Artula (black diamond) were added off the new Kennebago Quad Chair. Hornberg (green circle) is a new easier trail in the South Branch beginner/family area which also provides access to ski-in ski-out trails for the South Branch and Mountain Brook condominiums.
