Stockbridge Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Going for a hike on the South Face Trail is always a great adventure, and from Stockbridge Pond you acquire a perfect sight of Big Mountain. So much entertaining stuff to do at Stockbridge Pond, so little time. Get soaked paddling on Union River. This lake is so wonderful. trail near Stockbridge Pond called the Wonderland Trail; a magnificent site to camp here at Stockbridge Pond is Bass Harbor Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Blue Hill Falls, and time spent
at Joyce Beach is always fine. Camping is available at Quiet Side Campground, and you're in all probability interested in lakes, Quarry Pond is one of those nearby. Swamps like Lily Pond are fun to visit, and you can go for a
hike on the Western Mountain South Face Trail. Stockbridge Pond gets lots of water; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month is August.

 | We went there in September, but, it seemed like an ideal, quiet place for hikers who may want to get off the beaten track on a very commercial island. The showers were clean, the sites were clean and it was not the most expensive. Forewarned, the shuttle bus doesn't go there, price to pay for remoteness.... |

 | 16 miles away I have been camping there for 20 years, and it is the best campground I have ever seen. Everything is wonderful, and the bugs aren't even that bad.... |
