     A day on the slopes of Saddleback is just what you need; Joe Pokum Pond is a great lake nearby. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Spencer Stream has to offer, you can camp at King & Bartlett Lake Camp, and if you're here, you could go to Joe Pokum Bog. Get dripping wet paddling on Parlin Pond Stream; why not stop by Spencer Stream Dam since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. The Sally Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best, and lakes are  
   such serene sites, why not explore Little King Lake.
Spencer Stream is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Black Arrow Lodge is a brilliant place to camp nearby; there's perfect hiking along the Fire Warden Trail. High temperatures at Spencer Stream through the summer are in the 70's, and the nighttime is rather cooler of course, typically in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows at Spencer Stream
 
               through the wintertime mostly sink into the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. You get a glorious sight of King and Bartlett Mountain from Spencer Stream, and the snow is glorious at Sugarloaf USA. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do close to Spencer Stream. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Spencer Stream, and brilliant hiking is available along the Bigelow Range Trail. The amount of rainfall that falls at Spencer Stream is close to the national average; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
