     Otter Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and after a long day outdoors Herbert Grand Hotel is a nice location to spend a night or two. For the period of the summertime at Spectacle Pond temperatures are generally in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Spectacle Pond. The amount of precipitation that falls at Spectacle  
   Pond is close to the national average; during the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is generally the driest month. There's so much to do here at Spectacle Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Black Arrow Lodge is a tremendous place for that, and why not take a little visit to Black Brook while you're here.
This lake is so wonderful. A glorious place for whitewater paddling right next door to Spectacle Pond is Parlin Pond
 
               Stream, and Spectacle Pond is right by the Fire Warden Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Saddleback is a great local ski area; do take a hike on the Morrell Trail.
Spectacle Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, King & Bartlett Lake Camp is a nice local campground, and Farm Hill is clearly visible from Spectacle Pond. If you get bored of Spectacle Pond, you could also take a look at close by Everett Pond, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Sugarloaf USA. So many entertaining things to do at Spectacle Pond, so little time. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bigelow Range Trail, and Cupsuptic River is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby.

I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises....
