This lake is so wonderful. Garden Eden Brook is near Spectacle Pond and is always a bliss to stop at; a swamp like Sams Heath near Spectacle Pond has lots of interesting things to see. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Union River - East Branch, and good hiking is available along the Bar Island Trail. A splendid location to camp here at Spectacle Pond is       Eastbrook Campground; if you need a site to stay Best Western Acadia Park Inn is a great choice. Spectacle Pond gets a typical amount of yearly rain; most of the rain falls through November; February meanwhile is the driest month. Camping is available at Mountain View Campground; there are other sites here than Spectacle Pond, for example Leighton River Reservoir. Dry warm beds await you at Sea Breeze Motel. This lake is so wonderful. There are some tremendous                  whitewater spots on Union River - West Branch, and not far from Spectacle Pond you'll stumble on Duck Pond which is a pretty lake. All through the warm days of summer here at Spectacle Pond, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Spectacle Pond. This place, Spectacle Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors entertaining stuff.
