Many people like to go to Spectacle Pond. From a rainfall point of view Spectacle Pond is a rather normal location; during July this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn; pleasant hiking is available along the Millinocket Lake Tote Road. stuff, stop at The Pinnacle, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Machias River. During the long summer days at Spectacle Pond highs are mostly in the 70's, and the overnight is quite cooler of course, usually in the 50's.
For the period of the winter highs are commonly in the 20's while Spectacle Pond overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. Spectacle Pond is a great place to visit for more than one day, Umcolcus Sporting Camps is a great place to camp nearby; get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Millinocket Stream.
