You could also stop at Mud Lake while you're here at Spectacle Lakes; it's close by, and in case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Northern Inlet. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look       at everything Spectacle Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Cobscook Bay State Park, and whitewater paddling is great on East Machias River. So much entertaining stuff to do here at Spectacle Lakes, too magnificent to be true. Spectacle Lakes sees pretty high levels of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain; June on the other hand is the driest.
