     There's so much to do here at Spectacle Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Chet's Camps is a great spot for that, and the panoramas at Roosevelt Campobello International Park will blow your mind. You could also stop at Mud Lake while you're here at Spectacle Lakes; it's close by, and in case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Northern Inlet. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look  
   at everything Spectacle Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Cobscook Bay State Park, and whitewater paddling is great on East Machias River. So much entertaining stuff to do here at Spectacle Lakes, too magnificent to be true.
Spectacle Lakes sees pretty high levels of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain; June on the other hand is the driest. At Spectacle Lakes all through the summer months highs are in the 70's; the night is slightly
 
               cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) . Hunting in that area was, should I say, productive . ...
