In Maine there are many beautiful lakes, Southwest Pond is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Sandy River for all you adrenaline kick people, and you can run the rapids of Swift River. Southwest Pond is a beautiful lake in the White Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. The striking Blue Mountains is here at Southwest Pond, as expected you could also go to Swift River Pond if you're here; it's not far

| | at all. Throughout the summer months, highs generally are in the 70's at Southwest Pond while night lows are generally in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for Southwest Pond. The slopes of Saddleback are so inviting noone can resist, and a wonderful place to camp here at Southwest Pond is Black Brook Cove Campground. is uncomplicated to spot from Southwest Pond. Southwest Pond really is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. What would winter be without some skiing at Black Mountain, and dry warm beds await you at The Perennial Inn. But
wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the White Mountains. There are brilliant locations to look at along the Piazza Rock Trail, and in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Witham Pond is just a very short
distance away. An average amount of rainfall falls at Southwest Pond; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. There is a delightful hiking trail
near Southwest Pond called the Chimney Trail, and Southwest Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Coos Canyon Cabins and Campground is a great local campground.

 | Today I finished a kayak trip from Strong, Maine and took out at Osoola Park in Norridgewock. It took a day and three quarters. The bridge in New Sharon is by far the largest waves just under the bridge. Tired arms went through that at the near end of day. The water after that is fast for about an hour after that. Need to pay attention.... |
