This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Perennial Inn is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. High temperatures at South Pond through the warm days of summer are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for South Pond. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the White Mountains. | | close by; if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Brook Trail. This spot, the White Mountains, has so much outdoors fun stuff. The Chimney Trail is a glorious hiking trail close to South Pond, and Black Brook Cove Campground is a good campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Pond, you'll come across Witham Pond which is a beautiful lake; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Black Mountain. The White Mountains scenery is always beautiful. South Pond gets a common amount of
rain; August is the month that gets the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. South Pond is a great place to visit for more than one day, Coos Canyon Cabins and Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and you
can hit the slopes at Saddleback in the vicinity. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at South Pond. Going for a hike along the Piazza Rock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. Lakes are delightful; Sandy River Ponds is a lake that's in close proximity to South Pond.

 | Today I finished a kayak trip from Strong, Maine and took out at Osoola Park in Norridgewock. It took a day and three quarters. The bridge in New Sharon is by far the largest waves just under the bridge. Tired arms went through that at the near end of day. The water after that is fast for about an hour after that. Need to pay attention.... |
