There are some good whitewater spots on Grand Lake Stream, and a fine nearby hotel is Bar Harbor Inn. here at South Beaverdam Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Big Lake Campground is a great place for that, and while you're here, you could also pop by delightful Possum Lake. Grey Mountain is gorgeous and can be seen from South Beaverdam Lake; do visit North Beaverdam Lake, it's a lovely lake.

 | Clifford Lake is very isolated . You can get their via route 9 or Route 1 in Princeton. I would recommend a recent typo map and asking plenty of guestions from the locals. There is a small camping area. My last trip there (92) I had a truck and it was needed to traverse one road that comes to mind. The fishing was excellent ( pickerel averaged 20 in.) .
