Hiking is a popular thing to do around Soper Logan; Jerry Pond Tote Road is a good local trail, and if you've had enough of Soper Logan, First Lake is close by. Why not camp at South Branch Pond Campground while you're here at Soper Logan, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Millinocket Lake Tote Road. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do right next door to Soper Logan. Penobscot River - East Branch       has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by; camping is available at Matagamon Wilderness Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Katahdin Inn is a great place to get some rest; Soper Logan is not the only place close by, Grand Lake Matagamon is a close by lake. Looking for some flowing water? Try Little Hay Brook, and if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Millinocket Stream. Through the warm days of summer, highs                  generally are in the 70's at Soper Logan. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 20's, and overnight lows at Soper Logan throughout the wintertime ordinarily drop into the-10's. There's wonderful hiking along the Matagamon Tote Road.
