Wassataquoik Stream is a wonderful whitewater spot close to Soldier Pond, and hiking along the Sandbank Trail is magnificent fun. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Penobscot River - East Branch; going for a hike along the Telos Tote Road will let you absorb the natural       beauty of this neighborhood. Camping is available at Hidden Springs Campground; while you're here you can take a hike along the Sand                  Bank Trail. Summer at Soldier Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Soldier Pond tend to be in the 0's.
