A lake close by is Little Burnt Pond, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Snowshoe Pond; Old Gold Mine Trail is a nice local trail. Soar down the rapids of Tannery Brook River in a kayak, and Eagle Bluff is an exciting location to explore while at Snowshoe Pond. Snowshoe Pond in fact is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise.       Good hiking is available along the Bald Mountain Trail, and you'll meet a lot of people from Bangor here. Red Barn RV Park is a wonderful campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Homestead Motel and Cottages, and you can go for a hike on the Peaked Mountain Trail. After a long day outdoors University Inn Academic Suites is a splendid spot to spend a night or two, and Blackcap is a peak you can spot from Snowshoe Pond.                  This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Parks Pond Campground is a brilliant location to camp, and if you're a golfer then a delightful close by course is Lucerne Golf Course. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Snowshoe Pond reach the 70's with night lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while Snowshoe Pond night low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's.
