This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of East Machias River in a kayak; a beautiful lake like The Pond is a tremendous place to pop by. Snare Creek Dam is lovely and it's in the neighborhood of Snare Creek. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Snare Creek has to offer, you can camp at Sunkhaze Campground. A tremendous location in close proximity to Snare Creek is Cummings Ledge, and if       you're looking for a beach close by we recommend Little Pond Beach. Snare Creek really is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. A magnificent swamp near Snare Creek is Hopkins Gut, and get dripping wet paddling on Machias River. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Snare Creek, and the nighttime is a bit chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are typically in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Snare                  Creek. If you need a location to stay Bar Harbor Inn is a magnificent choice. If you're here at Snare Creek, do take a journey to Barney Point, and close by you discover the Mud Hole Trail which is a good hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Snare Creek that you need to camp here for a while, Sunkhaze Campground is a good site for that; West Branch Pleasant River Reservoir is a great lake close by. Nothing beats kicking back at Pobblestone Cove; why not a little side visit to Hay Creek.
