Narramissic River is a nice whitewater spot in the vicinity of Snake Pond, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Jerrys Meadow is right nearby. You can run the rapids of Goose Falls in close proximity to Snake Pond, and Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge is a perfect place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. On a pleasant day at Snake       Pond you can take a hike along the Black Dina Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Fort Knox Inn. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! Snake Pond is peerless! Sunshine Campground is a nice campground nearby, and Bucks Harbor is not far at all. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the neighborhood of Snake Pond will keep you coming back over and over. While you're here at Snake Pond you can take a hike along the Sawyer Notch Trail, and needless                  to say Billings Brook flows through this region. If you want to hit the beach, Bakeman Beach is in the neighborhood, and Robin Hood Camp is a brilliant local campground. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Blue Hill Trail, and a stunning lake like Lily Pond is a splendid place to explore. High temperatures at Snake Pond throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are usually in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Snake Pond are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not take a look at Round Pond next to Snake Pond, and you can see Kench Mountain from Snake Pond.
