If you are in Somerset county it's always a good idea to stop by Smith Pond. For you golfers we recommend nearby Loon's Cove Golf Course, and you can stay the night at Yonder Hill Campground. Smith Pond is a wet place that gets lots of rain; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Wesserunsett Stream offers some tremendous whitewater;

Hilton Hill is clearly visible from Smith Pond, and Smith Pond is a location with many visitors from Augusta-Waterville. There are some good whitewater spots on Sebasticook River; some of the water nearby flows, like Devils Bog Brook. Take a look at nearby Devils Bog, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites.

70's to Smith Pond while night lows are typically in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Smith Pond temperatures drop to the 0's. You completely must love Smith Pond.
If you like skiing, you're in luck; Eaton Mountain is near Smith Pond, and Smith Pond is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day, Two Rivers Campground is a wonderful site to camp nearby.
