Smith Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. So many cool things in close proximity to Smith Pond, absolutely remarkable. Paddling on Big Wilson Stream is so much fun; hiking is a popular thing to do around Smith Pond; Intake Trail is a perfect local trail. A great spot to camp here at Smith Pond is Northern Pride Lodge and Campground, and getting to Indian Stream from Smith Pond is uncomplicated. A common amount of precipitation

| | falls here at Smith Pond; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest.
Through the long summer days at Smith Pond highs are mostly in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Mountain Trail, and the snow is great at Big Squaw. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Big Wilson Stream Reservoir, and there's wonderful hiking along the Gulf Hagas Trail.
It's always wonderful
to explore Little Wilson Falls; Smith Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Wildwood Shores Campground is a fine local campground. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and there are swamps here too, Juniper Knee Bog is close by.
