If you are traveling by, why not stop by Skitacook Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds is a glorious place to camp, and a great nearby hotel is Shiretown Motor Inn. My Brothers Place is a good campground nearby, and a good spot for whitewater paddling is Mattawamkeag River - East Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at.

This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Skitacook Lake without first going for a hike along the Pierce Tote Road, and if you need a site to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a great choice. A lake close
by is Timoney Lake, and there's wonderful hiking along the Potters Trail. At Skitacook Lake during the summer highs are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Skitacook Lake.
