If you like swamps, you're in luck, Great Heath is right close by, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Jacks Spring. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Mopang Stream, and you can stay the night at Sunset Point Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Pleasant River, and dry warm beds await you at Bar       Harbor Inn. What a spot this is for outdoors people. There's so much to do here at Silica Ponds that you need to camp here for a while, Mainayr Campground is a perfect spot for that. Here at Silica Ponds you can see Heath Hill, and hey, Heath Brook is a brilliant local stream. The warmest time of the year at Silica Ponds arrives with high temperatures in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Silica Ponds                  night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.
