Do stop by Shirley Pond while you're in this part of Maine. From a precipitation point of view Shirley Pond is a reasonably typical spot; the month with most of the rain is July, and February is when it's the driest. If you need a place to stay Bingham Motor Inn is a fine choice, and a tremendous swamp in close proximity to Shirley Pond is East Shirley Bog. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the warm months at Shirley Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's, and the night is rather colder of course, typically in the 50's. Bunker Ponds is one of those nearby. It's a good idea to visit Dennin Brook, it's in the neighborhood of Shirley Pond. There's so much to do here at Shirley Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a brilliant site for that.
