A tremendous site to camp here at Shaw Pond is Loon Echo Campground, and if you've had enough of Shaw Pond, Spencer Lake is nearby. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Shaw Pond. Skiing at Saddleback is one of those things you just ought to do, and on a great day you can go to Spencer Gut, a swamp in the vicinity of Shaw Pond. Very charming scenery and magnificent       skiing is what you get at Sugarloaf USA, and tremendous hiking is available along the Fire Warden Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Spencer Stream, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Shaw Pond; Bigelow Range Trail is a fine local trail. Camping at Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground is always a tremendous experience, and the Arnolds Trail offers hiking at its best. A common amount of rain falls here at                  Shaw Pond; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Little Spencer Stream. All through the months of summer at Shaw Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's, and the night is a little chillier of course, typically in the 50's.
