Shadow Pond is a tremendous place to visit for more       than one day, Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a tremendous place to camp nearby, and get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Piscataquis River - West Branch. Man, is there a heap of fun stuff to do in the vicinity of Shadow Pond. You're most likely into lakes, Little Squaw Pond is one of those nearby, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Lodge at Moosehead Lake. The amount of rain that falls at Shadow Pond is close to the national average; July                  is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. Do schedule some time to stop at Cove Point in the neighborhood of Shadow Pond if you have a chance, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Shadow Pond; Big Squaw Mountain Trail is a wonderful local trail. At Shadow Pond during the warm months highs are in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Shadow Pond are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
