    The beauty of Shadow Pond is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Northern Pride Lodge and Campground; hiking along the Big Squaw Mountain Trail is nice fun. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Shadow Pond; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the warmest time of the year at Shadow Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's.  
   For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Through the winter highs are typically in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Shadow Pond sink into the-10's.
There's so much to do here at Shadow Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a good site for that, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Number Four Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
 
               Head up to Big Squaw and strap some skis to your feet. Mill Brook flows through this neighborhood; paddling on Piscataquis River - East Branch is so much fun.
Do schedule some time to stop at Cove Point near Shadow Pond if you have a chance, and lakes are such serene places, why not explore Papoose Pond. If you need a site to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a fine choice, and you'll locate a beautiful lake called Little Squaw Pond. All the outdoors exciting things in close proximity to Shadow Pond will keep you coming back persistently. Get drenched paddling on Piscataquis River - West Branch, and do take a hike on the Intake Trail.
