    It's always fun to stop by Shadow Pond. An average amount of rainfall falls at Shadow Pond; the month with most of the rain is July while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. But wait, there's more to do close to Shadow Pond. Go for a hike on the Intake Trail; camping at Northern Pride Lodge and Campground is always a fine experience. Head up to Big Squaw and strap some skis to your feet.
You are right next door to Cove Point while
 
   you're here at Shadow Pond, and there's whitewater on Piscataquis River - East Branch for all you thrill seekers. There's some flowing water nearby, Mill Brook is a stream you can have a look at while you're here; there's delightful hiking along the Number Four Mountain Trail. Camping is available at Casey's Spencer Bay Campground, and don't leave Shadow Pond without first going for a hike along the Big Squaw Mountain Trail.
During the warm months at Shadow
 
               Pond highs are usually in the 70's, and the nighttime is a little chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Shadow Pond are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the nice whitewater of Piscataquis River - West Branch, and dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Moosehead Lake.
