Shad Pond is always a pleasure to visit. After a long day outdoors Pamola Motor Lodge is a great location to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Shad Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Katahdin Shadows Campground is a great spot for that. A splendid site for whitewater paddling close to Shad Pond is Millinocket Stream, and Shad Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Grove Campground is a great local campground. | | so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Sandbank Trail is always a fine adventure, and if you're here you can play some golf at Hillcrest Golf Club.
Man, is there lots of amusing stuff to do in the neighborhood of Shad Pond. If you're going to Shad Pond from Bangor, you won't be the only one, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the Gray Ledge Dam Trail. November, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February.
This lake is so wonderful. The top of Shack Hill is easily spotted from Shad Pond, and a short visit to Grand Falls is always worthwhile.
You can run the rapids of Penobscot River - West Branch near Shad Pond, and close by you find the Cedar Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail. Jerry Brook is a stream that you may stumble upon during your stay, and if you need
a place to stay Best Western Inn is a nice choice.
At Shad Pond all through the summertime months highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Shad Pond.
