If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to Secret Bog. Throughout the summertime months at Secret Bog temperatures are usually in the 70's. | | discover a pretty lake called Beaver Bog near Secret Bog, and get your heart beating on the magnificent whitewater of Kennebago River. A pleasant location for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Secret Bog is Dead River - South Branch, and if you came to camp Black Brook Cove Campground is a great place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Secret Bog you can distinguish Spotted Mountain, and you can hit the slopes at Black Mountain in the vicinity. | |

Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bemis Trail, and check out close by Hayno Bog. Secret Bog is one of the lakes here in the White Mountains. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the White Mountains.
Secret Bog is right by the Bemis Stream Trail; Saddleback has fine slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. The Milrose Trail offers hiking at its best; while you're here, you could also go to pretty Quimby Pond.
From a rainfall point of view Secret Bog is a quite common site; most of the rain falls during August, and February is the month with the least moisture. If you go for the outdoors, you'll love Secret Bog. There's so much to do here
at Secret Bog that you need to camp here for a while, North Camps is a good site for that, and a quick trip to Quimby Brook is unquestionably a perfect idea.

Bugeye Pond
 | 17 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
