     Second Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Second Lake is a good spot of common rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Second Lake. Camping at South Branch Pond Campground is always a good experience. Take a hike on the Eagle Lake Tote Road; if you need a spot to stay Katahdin Inn is a great choice.
Have a good hiking
 
   adventure along the Old Pogy Road, and Second Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a good local campground. Summertime highs at Second Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for Second Lake. Hinckley Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping  
               at, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Webster Brook.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Freezeout Road; get your heart pumping on the magnificent whitewater of Munsungan Stream.
