Many people like to go to Schoolhouse Pond. Through the long summer days highs here at Schoolhouse Pond get into the 70's while night lows are generally in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Schoolhouse Pond through the wintertime usually dip into the 0's. If you're dropping by Schoolhouse Pond from Lewiston-Auburn, you won't be the only one, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Wilson Stream. months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February.
This lake is so wonderful. Fayette Ridge is clearly visible from Schoolhouse Pond, and camping at Riverbend Campground is always a wonderful
experience. If you came to camp East Livermore Campgrounds is a good spot to do that; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Sandy River. If you need a spot to stay Winthrop Motel is a tremendous choice; if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.
