Schoodic Lake is not the only location close by, Mud Pond is a close by lake, and Jo-mary Lake Campground is a magnificent local campground. Schoodic Stream has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Norton Trail. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Schoodic Lake reach the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. High temperatures       during the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Schoodic Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. There are swamps here too; Palmer Meadow is in close proximity, and paddling on Piscataquis River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Schoodic Lake is a spot with many visitors from Bangor, and Katahdin Inn is a nice location to get some rest. You could also stop by Jaquith Pond while you're here at Schoodic Lake; it's                  close by, and as expected Packard Brook flows through this neighborhood. The yearly rain here at Schoodic Lake is about average; most of the rain falls through July; the driest of the months is February. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Schoodic Lake. Why not camp at South Branch Lake Camp while you're here at Schoodic Lake, and the Carry Trail is a splendid hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful.
