There's perfect hiking along the Snowshoe Lake Road, and camping at Matagamon Wilderness Campground is always a wonderful experience. Sawtelle Pond is a good spot of normal rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. Go for a hike on the Millinocket Lake Tote Road, and Millinocket Stream has a magnificent       whitewater paddling spot nearby. This place, Sawtelle Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Camping is available at Umcolcus Sporting Camps; needless to say Jones Brook flows through this area. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Matagamon Tote Road; a splendid nearby hotel is Katahdin Inn. Through the months of summer highs here at Sawtelle Pond reach the 70's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The winter                  brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows at Sawtelle Pond through the wintertime typically sink into the-10's. Cunningham Mountains is pretty and can be spotted from Sawtelle Pond, and you should stop at Boody Cove when you're here.   Katahdin Inn, Millinocket 30 miles away The Econo Lodge is located at the northern end of the Appalachian Trail.
