Here at Savade Pond there are plenty of people from Augusta-Waterville, and if you come at the right time of year, Sheepscot River offers some brilliant whitewater. At Savade Pond all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Savade

Best Western Waterville Inn is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. One of the principal marks of the surroundings of Savade Pond is Windsor Neck Hill; get yourself into a kayak and hit Sheepscot River - West Branch.

Eaton Mountain
 | 25 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
