   scenery is always beautiful.
There's pleasant hiking along the Milrose Trail, and why not camp at Cupsuptic Campground if you're here at Saturday Pond. Saturday Pond is a reasonably wet place frequently with much rain; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Saturday Pond in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing

at nearby Balsams Wilderness, and naturally Black Cat Brook flows through this region.
And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more amusing things to do in the White Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Magalloway River, and Deer Mountain Campground is a fine local campground. Just can't get enough of the White Mountains. Don't leave Saturday Pond without first going for a hike along the Old Magalloway Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Parmachenee Lake.

Boundary Pond
10 miles away
Drove up on the 14th of October, 1 day before season closed. First time in 35 years of going was the pond complete smooth, not a ripple. Between my friend and I, we must have caught 30-40 fish both on dry & wet flies, only keeping 4 for breakfast the next morning. It was a good mix of newly stocked (white bellies) and either hold overs or natives (deep rich colors). It was a wonderful experience!...

Lower Richardson Lake

We stayed at South Arm campground and paddled the lake every day. One night we rented a wilderness site and tented from canoes. We also drove down the road and hiked out and back on the AT.
