    Beautiful Sargent Mountain Pond has much to offer visitors. Going for a hike along the Birch Spring Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and why not take a little trip to Chasm Brook since you're here. If the weather is good here at Sargent Mountain Pond, you can go for a hike along the Jordan Cliffs Trail, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Water Company Dam. The high level of precipitation makes Sargent  
   Mountain Pond a quite wet place; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is August.
Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Sargent Mountain Pond, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Sargent Mountain Pond fall into the 10's.                and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Hunters Beach. This lake is so wonderful.
This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. If time allows, Acadia National Park is a national park worth visiting, and you can run the rapids of Branch Lake Stream. While you're here at Sargent Mountain Pond you can take a hike along the Maple Spring Trail, and as expected, this is a splendid region for folks who like lakes, Jordan Pond is a lake close by. After a long day outdoors Highbrook Motel is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two; if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Echo Lake Beach.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Upper Hadlock Pond, and at Sargent Mountain Pond you can catch a glimpse of Bald Peak. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Sargent Mountain Pond has to offer, you can camp at Mt Desert Campground, and you must go to Tumbledown Cove when you're here. That right there is plenty already, but it carries on; Sargent Mountain Pond has it all. A short spree to Birch Spring is always worthwhile; there's whitewater on Union River for all you adrenaline kick people.
This lake is so wonderful. Amphitheater Valley is a tremendous site, and Sargent Mountain Pond is a great site to visit for more than one day, Camp Store is a great site to camp nearby.

Conners Nubble Trail
My wife and I and our two children (including son Conor, of course) hiked up Connor's Nubble in August, 2008.  The Acadia National Park Brochure/Map identifies this little mountain as ''Connor's Nubble'' while the trail sign itself goes with ''Conner's Nubble.''  We hiked up Connor's Nubble from the south, off of the carriage road/bike trail that runs south along the west side of Eagle Lake.  The hiking trail itself from the south approach is short, on the order of 1/3 mile.  It's pretty steep, but not too challenging given its brevity.  Once on top, the hiker is rewarded with sweeping views in all directions.  The view of Eagle Lake is terrific, as is the gander at Cadillac Mountain.  This is a very rewarding hike for such a short trail, and combined with a bike ride circumnavigating Eagle Lake, it makes for a terrific 3-hour jaunt....

Blackwoods Campground
I have been camping there for 20 years, and it is the best campground I have ever seen. Everything is wonderful, and the bugs aren't even that bad....

White Birches Campground
We went there in September, but, it seemed like an ideal, quiet place for hikers who may want to get off the beaten track on a very commercial island. The showers were clean, the sites were clean and it was not the most expensive. Forewarned, the shuttle bus doesn't go there, price to pay for remoteness....
