This lake is so wonderful. Santelle Deadwater Dam is worth a visit since you're here, and hiking along the Matagamon Tote Road is magnificent fun. Through the long summer days highs here at Santelle Deadwater get into the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows at Santelle Deadwater throughout the       winter regularly drop into the-10's. Santelle Deadwater gets a normal amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. After a long day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a glorious spot to spend a night or two. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff near Santelle Deadwater. Put some time aside to spend at Sawtelle Falls since you're here at Santelle Deadwater, and you can have a tremendous                  hiking adventure along the Snowshoe Lake Road. If you come at the right time of year, Shin Brook River offers some magnificent whitewater; do take a hike on the Jerry Pond Tote Road. Getting to Hay Brook from Santelle Deadwater is easy, and why not camp at Matagamon Wilderness Campground while you're here at Santelle Deadwater.
