Sand Pond is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. You could also visit Curtis Pond while you're here at Sand Pond; it's close by; a good close by hotel is Sanford Inn. Oak Hill is striking and can be seen from Sand Pond. There's so much to do here at Sand Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sand Pond Camping Park is a great site for that. Man, is there a lot of entertaining stuff to do near Sand Pond. The fine folks of Portland-South Portland

If you came to camp Jellystone Park Camp Resort is a tremendous place to do that, and Sanford/Kennebunkport Super 8 Motel is a great place to get some rest. If you're a golfer then a good close by course is Sanford Country Club, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River. Summertime highs at Sand Pond usually tend to be in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. | |

For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Sand Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
