Not far from Sand Pond, you'll find Dollar Pond which is a wonderful lake, and Yankee Doodle Cabins Rentals is a fine spot to get some rest. A glorious place to camp here at Sand Pond is Acres Of wildlife Camping; there's whitewater on Saco River for all you adrenaline people. At Sand Pond all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's, and through the night       it cools down to the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are mostly in the 20's while Sand Pond overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. Camping is available at Nason's Beach and Campground, and there's some flowing water close by, Heath Brook is a stream you can stop by while you're here. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do in the vicinity of Sand Pond. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Shawnee Peak is next to                  Sand Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sand Pond a wet spot; November is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is September.
