    It's always fun to stop by Salt Pond. While you're here at Salt Pond, you could also go to stunning First Pond; Twilite Motel is a great place to get some rest. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the South Face Trail; swamps are interesting sites and Duck Marsh in the neighborhood of Salt Pond is no exception. A great place for whitewater paddling near Salt Pond is Blue Hill Falls, and do pop by Mother Bush Pond, it's a beautiful lake.
So many fun things
 
   to do at Salt Pond, so little time. If you came to camp Sunshine Campground is a good site to do that, and do schedule some time to pop by Allen Point if you have a chance. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Blue Hill Trail; on a beautiful day you can stop by Birchhead Shore. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Bragdon Brook is a stream you can have a look at during your stay, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can  
               always go whitewater paddling on Branch Lake Stream.
Salt Pond gets a typical amount of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Salt Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, The Gatherings Family Campground is a great local campground, and a great nearby hotel is Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge. Hiking along the Old Cove Trail is nice fun.
For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Salt Pond get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Salt Pond.

We went there in September, but, it seemed like an ideal, quiet place for hikers who may want to get off the beaten track on a very commercial island. The showers were clean, the sites were clean and it was not the most expensive. Forewarned, the shuttle bus doesn't go there, price to pay for remoteness....
