Going for a hike on the South Face Trail is always a magnificent adventure; Sunshine Campground is a great campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Branch Lake Stream has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby, and nothing beats kicking back at Birchhead Shore. The Blue Hill Trail is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Salt       Pond; don't forget to take a great little trip to Bragdon Brook. Lakes? Sure, Mother Bush Pond is in close proximity. Salt Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. You should take a look at Allen Point when you're here at Salt Pond; if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blue Hill Falls. If you fancy the outdoors,                  you'll like Salt Pond. Near Salt Pond you locate the Old Cove Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and after a long day outdoors Homestead Motel and Cottages is a glorious site to spend a night or two. First Pond is a great lake near Salt Pond, and Salt Pond is a glorious spot to visit for more than one day, The Gatherings Family Campground is a glorious spot to camp nearby. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Salt Pond. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's.
