    Many people like to go to Salt Pond. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Salt Pond; the wettest month of the year is commonly November, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is February. Do schedule some time to stop at Allen Point in the neighborhood of Salt Pond if you have a chance, and get wet paddling on Branch Lake Stream. Beaches are fine; and Birchhead Shore right next door to Salt Pond is no exception, and some of the  
   water close by flows, like Bragdon Brook.
This lake is so wonderful. Eggemoggin Oceanfront Lodge is a good place to get some rest; there's tremendous hiking along the Blue Hill Trail. Why not go to a swamp like Duck Marsh while you're here at Salt Pond, and if you came to camp Sunshine Campground is a delightful place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. The South Face Trail offers hiking at its best.
Salt Pond is glorious enough to spend more than
 
               a day at, The Gatherings Family Campground is a glorious local campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Salt Pond; Old Cove Trail is a perfect local trail. Throughout the months of summer at Salt Pond temperatures are usually in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are mostly in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Salt Pond. This spot rules, just look at all the fun things to do in the vicinity of Salt Pond. Paddling on Blue Hill Falls is so much fun, and after a long day outdoors Twilite Motel is a fine place to spend a night or two.
